Tubastraea and Dendrophyllia both belong to the Dendropyhllidae family.
Tubastrea corals have no zooxanthellae and do not live from light. Thus they can be placed in a dark location. However, tubastreas have to be fed regularly, then they are quite durable.
They also like a laminar, light current that drives the food past them.
Food tip:
We recommend to feed thawed frost food like mysis or pellets with the Fauna Marin ReefBuster or a long tweezer directly on the polyps. Best early in the morning or evening when the polyps are visible.
