The Acanthastrea is a beautiful coral species, which attracts the attention of every aquarist - whether beginner or professional - especially with the great color variations.
Basically the Acans are easy in the attitude, like nearly all LPS corals, whereby of course the basic values should be kept in relation to the water parameters always.
Only the sensitivity to thread or drill algae is known, but this affects many LPS corals equally.
Flow medium, light also rather less, so best medium light zone to ground level, even shadow area is feasible. It should not be direct light.
Acans do not have to be fed, but live, besides their zooxan sites, also from what they catch or absorb floating particles.
Several times a week FaunaMarin LPS Food Grow + Color is added to thank the Acanthastreas with growth and bright colours.
